Health Programs Coordinator 

POSITION: Internship Program Coordinator 

REPORTS TO: Executive Director 

TIME/STATUS: Contract- 4 month project 

HOURLY RATE: $30/hour, Contract project

POSITION SUMMARY 

The Career Counselor / Internship Liaison will provide comprehensive career counseling 

services to students, assist in developing their career goals, and facilitate connections 

between students and potential internship opportunities through partnerships with 

universities. This role involves advising students on career options, helping them develop 

job search skills, and working closely with university career services to create internship 

opportunities. 

Under the supervision of the CEC President and Executive Director, the Internship 

Coordinator is responsible for establishing an Internship outreach and support project for 

Ethiopian students. CEC wishes to place 6 students into paid internship positions to ensure diversity in the local healthcare community and establish practical workplace experiences 

for students from BIPOC communities. 

CEC will recruit 6 students seeking paid internship experiences in the Health and Mental 

Health Care fields. The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining weekly 

communication with student interns and prepare four workshops for pre-employment and employability support. 

The position requires strong interpersonal skills to make connections with the target 

audience and answer questions about the program. 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Develops training plan for Interns for pre-employment soft skills training. 

2. Develops curriculum and training plan to meet student/intern needs. 

2. Liaison with Universities and Employers to ensure all internship requirements are being met. 

3. Facilitate introductions between students and employers. 

3. Meets with Interns once a week in person or virtually to ensure success in internship 

4. Overseas payment process for Interns based on successful completion of activities. 

5. Collect and Documents event details and reports event evaluations and photos. 

6. Perform monthly reporting to Funders. 

7. Participates in all appropriate meetings as directed. 

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Must speak, read and write in English AND be fluent in at least one of the following languages – Amharic, Oromo, Tigrynyan 

2. Bachelor’s Degree and experience working in the Healthcare or Mental health field 3. Excellent interpersonal skills. 

4. Coaching skills
