The Colorado Ethiopian Community (CEC) is now accepting applications for our Summer 2026 Mental Health Internship Program, a paid opportunity for high school, college, and university students interested in exploring careers in public and behavioral health.
This 3-month internship is part of our initiative to reduce the stigma around mental health and increase representation of Ethiopian and immigrant communities in the mental and public health fields. Through partnerships with nonprofits, mental health clinics, and community organizations, we connect students with real internship opportunities while providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the program.
Interns will gain hands-on experience supporting mental health initiatives, outreach, and community-based programs, while building professional skills in a supportive and culturally grounded environment. This program is ideal for students who are passionate about mental wellness, community impact, and health equity, and who are interested in exploring careers in these fields.
Interns will earn $20 per hour, working 10 hours per week from June through August 2026, for a total of 120 paid hours. Throughout the program, interns will receive mentorship, regular check-ins, and opportunities to grow their professional network.
